Hey. You seem to be a guru when it comes to this stuff.

I currently use an FCB1010 as a footswitch for midi guitar effects plugins in Logic, Amplitube etc…

To use wah, I presently have to press a switch that’s off to the side on the board, then the wah is engaged.
Is there a way to get the wah to engage just by using/moving the wah pedal, without having to use another switch to turn it off/on? Something along the lines of the Morely Switchless Wah pedal?

Just to be clearer, I know you can assign the high/low CC values to be triggers for on off, but what I want is for the wah to activate with movement and stay activated, until pedal motion stops.
Is this possible? For what it’s worth, I’m using the stock PROM. I’m also open to mounting and redirecting an FCB switch under the toe of the wah, if it can be done with a similar button strength as the Dunlop wah.

      Hey Patrick,

I wouldn’t say I’m a guru for the stock prom, but I do know that the stock prom doesn’t allow you to send multiple CC values based on the current expPedal movement. So it will only send one CC on one channel and for the entire midi range of 0 to 127.

Only way to use the stock FCB1010 as you want is if the target midi device supports your request. I know for a fact that the AxeFx2 has a feature like this. The wah is disabled/bypassed when the expPedal is in the lowest value. And it will enable wah when you move the pedal. But again, it’s the target midi device that does this, this stock FCB1010 only sends a single CC 0 – 127.

The FCBInfinity modfication however would have no problem at all to do exactly what you request. It could send different CC’s on different channels for whatever value of the expPedal. Of course, it’s not quite easy to perform the modification, but it’s really the most versatile solution.

I hope that helped to clarify.

    Thanks for replying.
The Infinity mod looks amazing. Definitely something I wouldn’t mind trying the future, but I just finished rewiring my Les Paul, and I’m totally done with the extensive DYIs for now. Do you think it’s relatively easy to mount a switch under the Wah toe, to give it the same effect as a regular wah? Would the newly installed switch have to take the place of an already existing FCB switch?

    Hi. Amazing work.

I want to mob my fcb where I only use the two expression pedals with a teensy.

Ant tips on a sketch to use for control?
